Tubing

The CPAP Tubing and hoses are used to connect the mask to the machine in order for the air to flow comfortably up to the patient and ensure a quality sleep. Respironics is a leading manufacturer of  standard 6ft tubing which is 20% lighter than standard tubing and much more flexible, making it the exact choice for smaller, lightweight masks that reduces the disturbance of the mask seals. CPAP tubing is available in 6ft, 8ft and 10ft options.

Resmed has developed some wonderful tubing that is called SlimLine Tubing and is used with the S9 series machines. Exclusive to ResMed, the SlimLine Tubing is 40% lighter, 20% thinner, and takes up 35% less space. Slimline tubing provides  more flexibility and less tangling with light weight materials. ResMed also offers  ClimateLine Heated Tubing with the S9 series machines. ClimateLine Tubing is 40% lighter, 20% thinner, and takes up 35% less space. The ClimateLine Heated Tubing works together with the H5i humidifier to give measured and controlled heat and humidification at the mask which pretty much eliminates any rainout.

The tubing should be removed daily from the cpap mask and the machine and  hung up to dry until the next use.Weekly it is important  to wash it in warm soapy water and then rinse thoroughly. Afterwards, allow the tubing to dry completely without direct contact to sunlight. CPAP and BiPAP tubing should be replaced every 6 months.
